Overview
Adding internal users can be done easily from the Checkr Pay dashboard. These users are not your 1099 earners, but rather staff members that you give access to issue payouts, add earners, fund the Checkr Pay account, etc. Note that only those with "Write" permissions on the User's tab can add new users to the Checkr Pay dashboard. If you need help, please reach out to us at customersupport@checkrpay.com.
Procedure
After logging in to the customer dashboard at customers.checkrpay.com navigate to the "User Management" tab. Start by entering the user's email address in the "Email" field.
You will then select their permissions using the bubbles in each category.
None - means the user will not have access to the selected tab (it will be greyed out when they log in)
Read Only - means the user can see and search the selected tab, but will not be able to make any changes. Please note that if Read-Only permissions are selected for "Workers" or "Payouts" they will not be able to add new earners or issue payouts.
Read & Write - means the user can view the selected tab and make changes. If you are adding a staff member who can add earners and issue payouts you will want to grant this permission for both the "Workers" and "Payouts" tabs.
The following is a description of the different tabs and how they are used.
- Users - this is the "User Management" tab. Granting write permissions to this section will allow a user to add, edit, and disable internal users from the Checkr Pay dashboard.
- Workers - access to this section is needed to view the existing 1099 earners that are on the Checkr Pay platform, as well as add new ones. Write permissions on this section will allow a user to add new earners to the platform (including via batch file).
- Payouts - access to this section is needed to view the payouts that have been issued to new earners. Write permissions in this section will allow a user to issue payouts to earners (including via batch file).
- Finance - access to this section allows a user to see the current balance in the Checkr Pay account. There is no difference in the read-only or the read & write permissions for this section as that is controlled by the Sensitive Account Data section.
- Taxes - Read Only access to this tab will allow a user to view the total earnings being reported, and the status of the 1099s for all earners. Read & Write access is required to generate, file, and download the PDF's on this tab.
- Sensitive Account Data - It is recommended that access to this section be restricted a user with read-only access to this section will be able to view the account and routing numbers on the Finance tab. A user with read & write access will be also be able to initiate a transfer from your external account into your Checkr Pay account.
- Execute Repayments - The read and write permission will grant the user rights to request that a payout be repaid. The read-only permission has the same effect as None. For more information on Repayments, review the Repayments article. Checkr Pay recommends limiting the access to Repayments to a limited set of Checkr Pay administrators and defining a strict set of criteria that would qualify a payout for repayment. Remember that repayments will be surprising and unwelcome by your earners!
